How to Export

From Mobile

1. Open BabyTime app
2. Go to Settings > Privacy and Data
3. Tap "Export My Data"
4. Choose what to include:
   • Shortlist only
   • All votes
   • Partner data
   • Tracking logs
   • Photos and attachments
5. Select format (PDF, CSV, JSON)
6. Tap "Generate Export"
7. Download or email to yourself

From Desktop

1. Log into BabyTime on web browser
2. Click Profile > Data Export
3. Customize your export (same options as mobile)
4. Click "Generate"
5. Download directly to your computer

Processing time: Small exports (shortlist only) generate instantly. Large exports (full history + photos) may take 2-5 minutes. We'll email you when ready.

Sharing Options

Private Link Sharing

Generate a private, view-only link to your shortlist:

• Choose names: Share all shortlist or select specific names
• Set expiration: 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, never
• Allow comments: (Optional) Let viewers leave feedback
• Track views: (Pro) See who opened the link and when
• Revoke anytime: Deactivate link instantly

Social Sharing

Share your final name announcement:

• Beautiful graphic with baby's name, meaning, pronunciation
• Customizable colors and fonts
• Add photo (optional)
• One-tap share to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Or download image to post manually

Family Portal (Pro)

Invite family members as "Viewers":

• See your shortlist (read-only)
• Leave comments/reactions

What's Included vs Excluded

Exports include:

Exports do NOT include:

• Your password
• Payment information
• Other users' private data
• BabyTime's proprietary algorithms

GDPR & Data Rights

Under GDPR/CCPA, you have the right to:

• Access: Download all your data (covered here)
• Rectification: Correct inaccurate data (edit in app)
• Erasure: Delete your account entirely (Settings > Delete Account)
• Portability: Take your data elsewhere (exports work everywhere)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is export available for free users?

Basic export (shortlist only, CSV format) is free. PDF baby books, tracking data export, and advanced sharing features require Pro.

Can I export if I cancel Pro?

Yes! Export anytime, even after canceling. Your data is always accessible. Pro just unlocks prettier formats and more options.

How do I import to another app?

CSV export works with most baby apps and spreadsheets. JSON export is machine-readable. If you need help importing to a specific app, contact support.

Can I re-import data later?

Yes. If you delete your account then change your mind, you can create a new account and import your exported data. All votes, notes, and history will be restored.

How long are shared links active?

You set the expiration when creating the link (24hrs to never). You can also manually deactivate any link instantly from Settings > Shared Links.
